We all have a list of favorite songs, movies, places and websites that we absolutely love! When we favor something, it is mostly because we have connected with it. It's either something that reminds you of a happy event in your life or simply brings happiness to us every time we come across this.
Crazy Teenagers in Love
Usually when I go on my laptop, I automatically go on YouTube and watch Salsa and Bachata Dancing videos. This was my favorite past time. Just because I don’t go on websites on my laptop does not mean I did not use apps on my iPhone. My most used app, besides Instagram (because come on, who doesn't love Instagram?) was Tumblr. There is one page on Tumblr that I always go to every time I clicked on the app. This page was the "crazy-teenagers-in-love "page.
Crazy Teenagers in love is a page on Tumblr.com. This page's purpose is to show off couples, whether they are same sex, or heterosexual, through pictures and quotes. It promotes love and happiness through their positive and upbeat website. This page works to educate and teach people that no matter what your sexual orientation is, if you're happy, then you should show it! Quite often, teenagers especially, tend to keep their love lives discreet, not only because it's not good to let the whole world know your problems in a relationship, but also because they are afraid of being judged. The page builds a sense of community with its website. Tumblr itself brings a lot of people together, but this page gives a sense of hope. It gives teens hope that someday they too will find someone who will love them unconditionally. Not only does it give them a sense of hope but it brings people together and celebrate that love is a beautiful thing. The website allows users to submit their own personal pictures with their significant others. By doing so, the owner of the page is allowing people to see that the pictures she puts on her page aren't random pictures she got off the internet but instead pictures of regular teens all across the world. When talking about the design of the website, let me tell you its all Pink everything! Literally! However it goes perfect because of the purpose of the website. The website's background is a light pink with hearts all over it. Its hearts are also different shades of pink. The owner's choice of background was great! Although I'm not much of a pink person, I find this website's background extremely adorable and heartwarming. You must be asking yourself, why Jossieluz, why do you like this page so much? Well let me tell you. I'm a secret hopeless romantic. Yes, there I said it. People's first impressions of me when they see me is always the same. Everyone always thinks I'm this cold hearted, aggressive and mean person. Why? Well because I have a serious face. I could be daydreaming and people think I'm mad about something. Since people think I'm mean, they feel intimidated by me and therefore do not approach me at all. However, I am the most hopeless romantic ever. I watch every "lovey dovey" movie that comes out and I make my boyfriend watch it with me. This page allows me to be myself and allows my Tumblr experience to be a variety of both "lovey dovey" and cold hearted stuff. |

Like the Crazy Teenagers in Love blog, I absolutely LOVE the Latina website. I stumbled across the Latina website unintentionally one night while on Facebook. A friend of mine had shared an article that absolutely caught my attention. She was featured on the website! The article was completely about her. They wrote about her sense of style. They have an article describing how her style was something that caught their attention and they absolutely loved her choice of clothes. Ever since that night I decided to see what this website had to offer. The fact that they featured one of my friends, simply because they came across her picture on Instagram, was something that surprised her and me and everyone else who knows my friend. The Latina page is basically a website in which articles are written based on anything that has to do with Latinas. Latinas is the spanish word for saying female Hispanics. This website provides people, not only Latinas, with the latest stories and or gossip going around the Hollywood world. Very often, in my opinion, people don't take the time to read upon things that go on in the Hispanic community, nevertheless in the female hispanic community. This website allows for this to be fixed. It allows people to be able to easily access the latest farandula (gossip). This website provides a sense of community around its website. Like Tumblr, Latina brings a lot of people together as well. This page allows Hispanic women to feel as home with one another, at least for me it does. By going on the Latinas website I feel at home. I feel connected to my roots. Although it may sound weird, because how can you feel connected to a website, it does. When I read articles on this website, I realize that there are many things going on that I had no idea were occurring. It helps people realize that Hispanic women are just as important as any other females. It allows people to realize that female Hispanics are capable of doing more than what they can imagine. This website brings people together to support the Latina community. When talking about the design of the website, let me tell you that it is the simplest design ever. Literally! However, it does fit the website perfectly. The design itself is a plain white background. That is it. I told you it was simple, thought I was kidding huh? On the upper left hand side, however, they have the word LATINA in red. The choice is perfect because its simple but yet it looks great! Simplicity is beauty, and I prefer things that are simple because it makes me focus more on the messages being given than being distracted by their backgrounds. The question you may be asking yourself is why? Why Jossieluz? Why do you like this website so much? Well like I stated before, it makes me feel completely connected to my roots. I absolutely adore reading things on Hispanics, predominately females because it makes me feel proud of being a Hispanic female. Besides that, I also enjoy educating myself. Now you may say, educate yourself? Yes educate myself. |
